Charlotte, North Carolina's idea agency iKan. presented local creatives withe a safe space to generate their wildest ideas.
Charlotte's idea agency, iKan, returned with their second Ideation Lab; a safe space for one to generate their wildest ideas. On December 8th, 2018, iKan founder Brandon Crooms brought together many creative minds from diverse backgrounds, to brainstorm unique ideas at BLKTech Interactive, located in the NoDa arts and entertainment district of Charlotte, North Carolina.
In a workshop style environment, individuals were presented with questions to collectively brainstorm solutions as it pertained to earthly, and local concerns. Questions asked during the lab included: how might we reinvent the fashion industry to contribute less waste to the environment?, how might we build better employment opportunities and entrepreneurial pathways for young people around the world?, how might we dramatically reduce waste by transforming our relationship with food?, and how might we design creative experiences for the 2019 NBA All-Star weekend?
Through the process of the Ideation Lab, creatives were taught the understanding of the power that exists in their most radical ideas—and that there's always a possibility for manifestation no matter how extreme their ideas comes off to others. An outside the box mentality was encouraged at the Ideation Lab, because iKan is well aware that—for someone to freely express radical ideas, its important that it's done within the constructs of a judgement free space. iKan also understands the importance of detaching from westernized monolithic thinking. The iKan idea agency and their idea development process coined ideation, will be a staple for creatives all over the world in due time.
