This past Saturday, amidst the city-wide celebration of the Charlotte SHOUT! Festival, I had the pleasure to attend an installment of the “Women Within” event series at BeSocial. Appropriately titled “SneakHER Expressions”, the experience included a discussion panel with special guest speakers Astasia Williams, Melissa Cantey and Channing Beumer. Each panelist shared wisdom related to equal representation in the sneaker world, following their passion in a male-dominated industry, and their unique experiences as they identified their personal style. Following the discussion, we participated in a sock customization workshop that allowed each of us to express our unique sneaker identity.
